During my co-op at Remitbee, I was tasked with redesigning the Remitbee iOS mobile application focusing on implementing our branding while achieving a traditional iOS experience for our users.
The Problem
An iOS version of the Remitbee mobile application had not yet been developed. Although the application was functioning on iOS devices, the functionality and design was built from the Android prototype.
0.1   Mapping out the flow
To begin, I created a flow chart mapping out the user's movement throughout the product - from entry point right through the final interaction. This included major navigational paths such as, verification stages, money transfers, currency exchanges and reward redemption. The purpose of this exercise was to collaborate with the product manager and identify where navigational flow can be improved from previous testing and daa analytics on HotJar.

0.2   Gathering Research
HotJar Analytics
Prior to redesigning the application to improve the user experience I needed to understand the following:

              1. At what point does a potential customer become a lost customer
                   Why is this important?
                       - To improve our conversion rate. Although there were many new users signing up, there were                           fewer people actually completing a transaction.
                    How was this data collected?
                       - I created a funnel on HotJar to identify at which points users were dropping off. These areas                           would be investigated further during user testing.

              2. Which features on each page attract user the most
                   Why is this important?
                       - To identify which pages/features need to be more accessible to our users.
                    How was this data collected?
                       - Using a heat map, I was able to pinpoint high-traffic areas of the application.
App Store Reviews
To gather qualitative data, I worked closely with the Customer Service team and read through Remitbee's reviews on the App Store and to collect insight on common issues our users were facing.
User Testing
Next, I tested the current iOS mobile application with users. While asking the participants to complete simple tasks, I was able to obtain an unbiased examination of the product. The feedback received from the user testing helped me make research-backed, user-centered design decisions.
0.3   iOS Research
Prior to creating the new screens, I completed thorough research to grasp a solid understanding of the iOS Human Interface Guidelines. Through this exercise, I studied the iOS standards for modality, data entry, authentication and visual design. After grasping the best practices for an iOS user experience, I identified where and how it can be implemented through Remitbee's application.

1. Grasp a strong understanding of iOS native functionalities
2. Identify where/how these can be implemented in Remitbee's application
3. Present sample designs to the product team
4. Collaborate with developers to roadmap the implementation

While presenting sample designs to the Product team, I was given he opportunity to lead discussions with the project developers to determine the feasibility and priority of updating screens and features. In collaboration with the developers and product manager, we created a project roadmap.
0.4   Design

Phase One
During the first phase, I focused on embedding iOS assets into the design system. This process would help improve the efficiency of the designing process.

Phase Two
Throughout the second phase, I designed each of the flows in sequential priority and hosted weekly standup meetings to discuss the team's progress and any obstacles.

Phase Three
To hand off the project to the developers at the end of my co-op term, I provided clear guidelines for the use cases of each component and font styles.
0.5   Reflecting
Overall I designed 150+ screens for the new Remitbee iOS mobile application. Throughout this pro
I am grateful for the guidance and support I was given to take the front seat and lead this project from the ideation to launch.
